| DID YOU KNOW The SANYO Blimp is the first of the A-150 series of lightships. It is called a lightship because of its unique luminosity in the dark. At night, the lightship glows, using illuminated envelope technology and two 1,000 watts metal halide bulbs which light up the interior. The SANYO Blimp has nine passenger seats, can cruise at a top speed of 65 miles per hour and fly at an altitude of up to 10,000 feet. A sixteen member crew, operated by The Lightship Group, travels with the blimp year round. In addition to being seen by million of television viewers, the SANYO Blimp has flown over 10,000 passengers in just over 5 years of operations. It has journeyed to 3 countries (Canada, Mexico and the United States), toured 31 cities, and traveled approximately 70,000 miles. Aerial Camera Program: The SANYO Blimp is equipped with a state-of-the-art digital camera system, which is able to provide live and taped video to broadcast networks. Aerial camera views have been provided for ESPN/ESPN2 (National Hot Rod Association Races), The Golf Channel, FOX (several National Football League games and the Major League Baseball National League Championship Series), ABC, NBC (National Football League) and CNBC.
