Woodbridge, ON, July 15, 2009 – SANYO Canada Inc. (SANYO), a subsidiary of SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of LCD and DLP projectors, has announced its 2009 projector line-up which includes 11 new projectors to suit any application and any budget.

The PDG-DHT100L is a professional class 1080p native resolution single chip DLP projector with key features including a dual lamp system that allows for increased light output, a user changeable twin color wheel system that increases either color reproduction or light output efficiency, and SANYO's Active Maintenance Filter for extended maintenance cycles. The projector is also compatible with SANYO's exclusive Uncompressed HD Data Wireless Transmission System, which is available as an option. It is the brightest projector in its class with 6500 lumens, and is compatible with Full HD (1920 X 1080) signal. Contributing to the increased light output efficiency, the PDG-DHT100L is outfitted with two 330-watt UHP bulbs. The highly bright projector answers a growing need for projectors to perform in brighter environments, particularly in theatres, auditoriums, or large lecture halls. Other features include a dust-proof, sealed optical engine, a flexible mounting solution with 360 vertical degree possibilities, and edge blending/colour matching functions. MSRP is $24,500.

The PDG-DET100L is compatible with high-resolution SXGA+ (1,400 x 1,050) and has
the highest brightness in its class at 7500 lumens. In addition, the ‘DICOM Simulation
Mode’ precisely reproduces medical-related high-resolution data which makes it ideal for
use at medical education institutions. MSRP is $22,561.

The PLC-WTC500L is compatible with high-resolution Wide XGA (1,280 x 800) resolution and
is bright at 5000 lumens. The ‘Lamp Selection System’ featured on this model automatically selects one of the two installed lamps to project from, enabling the lamp replacement interval to be twice as long as conventional one-lamp models, allowing a total of 6,000 hours of continuous lamp life, opening up more options to resolve issues with budgets. Other features include a Durable Inorganic Optical System (DIOS) and HDMI input, as well as an option to use the XT series lens. MSRP is $7,640.

Key features of the WXGA PLC-WXU700 LCD projector include the world’s first high-speed IEEE802.11n wireless LAN capability, video streaming, full (1280 x 800) WXGA resolution, 3800 lumens and compatibility with the Windows Vista® Network Projector Function. It is the first projector to offer IEEE802.11n high-speed wireless LAN capabilities, significantly increasing transmission speeds currently available for portable projectors with wireless functionality. Resolution is 1280 x 800 (WXGA), aspect ratio is 16:10, contrast ratio is 500:1 and brightness is 3800 lumens. MSRP is $2,895.

The PLC-WXL46 (silver cabinet) Fixed Short Focus Lens projectors sport 2000 lumens brightness, have a blackboard (for Green colour) mode and a PIN code lock. These devices can project a full 203 cm/80-inch image from a distance of only 86 cm/33 inches enabling teachers, for example, to project images onto the blackboard right from their desk which means they can use large images even in relatively small rooms, in addition to keeping the light out of their eyes. Other features include 500:1 contrast ratio and weigh 3.4 kg/7.5 lbs. MSRP is $2,780. It includes wired LAN capabilities.

The PLC-XU355 and PLC-XU305 projectors offer the industry's first “Simple Wireless Setting” via USB memory. Both models feature SANYO's Easy Set-up Function with “auto input signal search,” “automatic vertical keystone correction,” and the “guidance function” on-screen connection instructions. Each projector weighs less than 3 kilograms/7 pounds, offering true portability for quick setup and fast presentations. These models (XU355/305) are outfitted with a wide-range 1.6x optical zoom lens, allowing for flexible placement. The short-focus type lens enables the projection of a 254 cm/100 inch image from as short a distance as 239 cm/94 inches. They also contain a built-in 7-watt mono speaker, allowing multimedia presentations that contain audio. Resolution is 1024 X 768, with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a brightness of 3500 lumens. Both projectors offer simple wireless settings, a 7 watt speaker, wide range zoom and USB memory viewer. MSRP are $2,265 and $2,115 respectively. The PLC-XU350 and PLC-XU300 do not include those final features. MSRP are $1,755 and $1,500 respectively.
In the ultra portable category, the PLC-XW250 and the PLC-XW200 offer educators outstanding cost performance with an eco stand-by power mode that uses a mere 0.4 watts. These are SANYO's most ecological data projectors with the eco power stand-by mode saving about 80% of the energy that is consumed by similar previous SANYO projectors. By redesigning the electrical circuits, these two projectors are able to comply with the EuP-Directive Lot 6 and the EU RoHS Directive. Resolution is 1024 x 768, aspect ratio is 4:3, contrast ratio is 500:1 and brightness is 2600 lumens (PLC-XW250), or 2200 lumens (PLC-XW200). These units include wired LAN capabilities. MSRP are $965 and $899 respectively.
